Wow, I am so sorry to hear about Max. I have to admit, I looked at the pictures on your first post without reading the text first and thought to myself, "those are some lucky dogs!!" Losing a loved one is always so hard, I STILL cry when I think too long about my Ziggy (he died 8 years ago)... something about a good dog just makes them impossible to get over! At least you know he had one fantastic life as your beloved puppy :) Thinking of you guys!
