More history

Another bit of family history from my mother. This one is a passport photo of my great grandmother and her daughters, who were moving from France to Florence, Italy where my great-grandfather was teaching at the University.
My grandmother Christianne is the one on the bottom left. She would go on to study art while in Florence. Next to her in front is Jaqueline, the youngest, who was a piano prodigy and toured Europe accompanying violinist Yehudi Menuhin. Madeleine, the eldest (on the right) was a nun for a while, and received a medal of honor for helping soldiers during the war. She later left the order and married. Annie, at top, was an anthropologist, an avid hiker and traveler, and lived much of her adult life in Casablanca, Morocco. A family of intrepid women.

Thinking of you all as you prepare for tomorrow. With all her guardian angels, she is certain to rebound into her little self quickly. I hope you see it in her eyes sooner than you expect.
Hugs,
