Wishing everyone much auspiciousness: luck, prosperity, longevity, a distinct absence of ghosts, and first and foremost happiness this lunar New Year (that's my wish, since there has been a lot of sorrow among people I know in the preceeding weeks).
By sheer chance, we did happen to clean the house from top to bottom right before the lunar New Year (only because our niece was coming for a sleepover, and we wanted everything in tip-top shape). On top of that, also by sheer chance, I AM wearing a pair of slippers that was given to me before the New Year (which, also fortunately, happen to be red). We will leave the lights on overnight to scare away ghosts (at the insistence of my dog, Sam, who hates ghosts...hates 'em!). But leaving the doors and windows open is a tall order today, since it's on the wintry side here in CO.
Just don't wash your hair today, people. And whatever you do, DO NOT buy a pair of shoes. Very, very bad luck. Oh, very bad. A terrible, terrible thing.

Unfortunately, we cannot leave windows or doors open either, it is snowing and coooold!

crap..I already washed my hair and Pipers will need washing too as she had swimming lessons...perhaps that is why we got a screw in our tire this morning and because I drove on it in these temps I ruined the 'wall' of the tire and now have to replace the entire set(the trouble with AWD vehicles!)

We did go out of our way not to buy pants or shoes during out C*stco run today...it ain't easy, we kinda lose our heads at C*stco.
