Thanks, mum...

...for teaching me how to thread a sewing machine, way back in elementary school.
Turns out that memory is still buried somewhere in a deep and dusty recess of my brain.
Had it not been for that long-lost sense memory, I'm quite certain I would have given up almost immediately, and possibly even returned the new sewing machine to the store, and bagged the whole idea.
Instead, I was able to cut up a vintage apron I found once in an antique store, and refashion it in rather short order into a sundress for Q.
It's a total hackjob, of course - but it's cute on her and she was comfortable in it for a whole afternoon. The success (and above all the alacrity) of this project has encouraged me enough that I may, in fact, sew again.
Ah, summer.

I'm working on ruffle pants made out of old tablecloths...

Wow!! How Q is growing!! Beautiful Girl! And, a lovely sundress!! She sure does look adorable!! She also is appearing much taller too!!! Also love the tricycle! Happy Sewing, Maia!!

I love the apron, turned sundress! And of course the little beauty inside the dress makes it all the more special. She is just doing so well, happy remaining summer!
