Progress

Yup, I'm still working on that one little chair! The Indian mendhi design I decided to use is very intricate, and so progress is slow, using a combination of India ink and acrylic paint over latex. But I think it will be worth it in the end. When the design is done, I'll glaze it with an "antiquing" glaze over the top, both to seal the design and give it a vintage look. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it comes out. But let me tell you - these designs are complex and incredibly intricate, and much more difficult than they look. The people who do those henna "tattoos" are incredible, and I have new respect for them after attempting to tackle this design!
...maybe I'll pick something a little simpler for the desk ;)

Wow, that chair is absolutely beautiful. I would hate to sit on it, it is such a work of art! And your clothing blends perfectly with the colors of the wall and chair!
I think (not that my opinion matters) that you should still do a matching design for the desk. Maybe just on the corners, or a border?
I wish I had an ounce of your creativity! I was blessed with big boobs instead. Not that they are of any use, since I never breastfed anybody. I am so right brained it's not funny.

God- how i wish i had your talent. I love your top in this photo! This must be great "therapy" for you to get lost in!

I also love little Sam's spirit trying to hoist himself on the dragon. He just wanted to be close to his Mama- how sweet is that?

About z's hanging it is one of many things she does to help regulate herself. We are using a shower tension rod in our hallways and door frames, being careful to really wedge it in (to the point of making indentations) and it works brilliantly (for now- until she gains too much). I think i will do a sensory/ attach/ ptsd post sometime soon- for the stuff that has helped z- but it is sooo individualized and alot has been trial and error for us.

BTW today was a SH**T day- like every thing i learned flew out the window. thanks for the vent!
