Always an occasion to record!
This year more than ever.
Not that QQ was overly impressed by the snow. She had an appointment at the ENT specialists to check her ear tubes this morning early, and M said she seemed a bit put out by the cold flakes touching her face.
But by the time they returned it was so lovely out...the light so delicate on the gold tips of the grasses, the snow just that pure, gossamer dusting that only happens the first time of the year...
This was a moment to remember.
As for the white stuff itself...she was a bit uncertain.
Especially when daddy threw a snowball at mommy, and then used QQ as a human shield to absorb the return volley. Ah, boys! This is just the sort of thing that QQ will have to learn to expect in the Larkin family!
(Fortunately, mommy throws like a girl...an uncoordinated girl...so she was in no danger).
I don't know why the vision always appeals to me...I took very nearly the same photo last year on first snow...but I love the way our neighbor Wendy's cool motorcycle looks with a fresh blanket of white covering it. Is it just me?
note: for those wanting to know about QQ's appointment, it was just a checkup to make sure her ear tubes settled in alright since her surgery (they were put in place at the same time as her palate and lip adhesion). They checked out just fine. Her hearing, while much better then the pre-tubes test, is still testing a bit low, but so far they are chalking that up to her being a baby, and too distractible to respond properly to the hearing tests. She'll have another checkup in six months. The tubes have to be replaced on an average of every 18 months.
