Morning

Today has been housecleaning day, but before we started dusting, shaking out, folding, sweeping and washing, I snapped this picture from the doorway of Flynn's room. Sometimes, there's something sweetly comforting about the morning tangle of sheets and pillows, the dog sleeping in the baby's room, Flynn's latest clothes hanging over the crib rail, and my painting supplies and French decorating glossies still scattered about (as they will be for some time yet as I move on to painting Flynn's school desk). There is also, of course, something immensely satisfying about shaking out rugs and changing sheets, smoothing covers and dusting out corners, stowing everything neatly in place once again and making the place shine - not a new shine, but the low, buffed glow of a house well-used and well-loved.

Serious nesting going on, love it.
If you have to need to clean, stop by anytime. ;)

How perfect that nursery is for little Miss Flynn. Oh the many beautiful mornings to come...you can feel the love in this home for sure!
The blocks your ordered on Etsy are really neat, great shopping again!

Aha, the poochie slept in the nursery! I have a funny feeling that once Flynn is home they will both be spending more time in there.
Maybe instead of making the bed you should have just gotten back in and gotten more sleep? Because that's the one thing I miss the most!

Soon Flynn will be nestled in that room! Now you must tell me how big Ms. Flynn is and whether you would be interested in my girls' gently used clothing. Claire is now in 12-18m size clothing so all my 9m and 12m size outfits need to find a new home and everyone I know either has boys or bigger babies. I must warn you, there is some pink, but not much. I will not be at all offended if you would rather not mess with it.

I think you would find the satisfaction of dusting corners over here at my place immeasurably satisfying, not to mentioin never-ending. Come on over!

You say it so perfectly... I love this smile on you. I can see it, even though we've never met.

Your nest looks so warm - Flynn's going to be in that crib, smiling, soon!
