Made by hand, with love

Yesterday, a box came from my friend G. in North Carolina. Inside was this lovely hand-knitted fish, along with a sweet wish for Flynn which will go in her lifebook. You pull the cord, and a tiny music box inside plays a lullaby. I think I'll hang it with a ribbon over the crib.

I love all things handmade, and G is a master knitter and seamstress (she also sewed my gorgeous red and white diaper bag, the one I'm carrying in our LOA picture!) right now the fish is accompanying my handmade stuffed animals in the crib. In this picture, it's occupying the toy bench that my mum and I put together by hand the other day. I like to think of all these loving hands putting together Flynn's world for her, piece by piece.

I love the fish! Hand made things are the best. There is a lot of love and craftmanship that goes into them.

I agree with Fliss, love the pics with the new lens.
Waoo, things are strange sometimes, I usually find these fortune cookies messages so laughable, but these ones made me smile of hapiness for you.
This fish is wonderful, your friend is very talented!

M...are you sure you don't mind sharing your shots? I would be happy...MORE than happy...to pay you for them!

I love them all but my favorites are (sorry I don't know the flower names) from the bottom up:
3rd up (purple)
4th up (2 off center)
6th up (white)
& the top lili pad shot (off center bloom)

My email address is 1sttimemama1@gmail.com (there are two 1's unlike the blog address)

Your new lens rocks!!! Thank you!

That is one amazing musical fish! It's adorable as just a fish with personality in its shape, but that it plays music! Well, that is over the top! Does G in North Carolina have an etsy shop?
Happy Week!

I have been encouraging G to start a business ever since I saw her beautiful snow hats. But she has bigger fish to fry, and is in the process of devoting her time to raising her gorgeous son at the moment! I feel very fortunate to receive a bit of her craftiness here and there!

Hey!
You make the (blow) fish look good! Your lens is well worth the investment. I was worried it was a fat and sort of ugly fish, but it still made me smile whenever I picked up the project and I hope it'll do the same for Flynn.

Trena, I'd be happy to make you a fish. It's really a small project - and yes, someday I'll get my act together and get on etsy. Thanks for the kind compliments everyone...
I'll make Flynn a hat when the time comes - so excited for you all G
