Lovely!

When FF first came home, as soon as it warmed up enough, every day I would strap her to my back and walk her through the woods - and every day I would think about the fact that there was a good chance that she was pretty much NEVER outside before she came to us. Her orphanage didn't even have an outdoor space for the older kids, never mind the babies. And I would look around - and, well, you know how beautiful it is around here. A different kind of beauty than the west - but beautiful none the less. And I was just so grateful that I was the one lucky enough to be showing her all this beauty. I was so happy that she could see the trees and the flowers and hear the birds and the wind and smell the sweet country air. What a gift - for her - and me!

The pictures are all beautiful and touching but Sam stole the show in that last pic!!! That is such a good shot!

I have just one question... does she have magic hands? I tell you, she looks at them with such wonder and awe sometimes. I've seen it in several pictures in several posts. They are captivating, I can see. It's more than the "holy cow, I have hands!" look of an infant. Yes, there's something about those hands.

I love using a backpack but those kids sure get heavy after a while.

The pictures are great but I agree with Yoli, the last one of Sam is the best!
It looks like Flynn is loving nature.

Why do I want to check out your site each day to find what adventure we are going on next... oh... this was a heavenly hike... though foolishly I will admit that when I saw the first photo and there is the bike rake on the back of the car and Mike bending down strapping Flynn into her little backpack... and you were pulling her behind the car... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... hey, I am truly not that dumb but at a quick glance... I had a brain fart and wondered... oh my... I am daft... hehehe. It is great though that Flynn is out in that nature/fresh air...

What gorgeous photos, as always! It's amazing to try and think about her perspective, and how all of these new sights and sensations are being processed by her. Sam looks like such the little guardian over his TWO girls, what a darling!

Hi Maia,
The photos are amazing. How could anyone be stressed in the Rockies, right. You all look relaxed and having fun sure. I think your daughter will probably try a few fourteeners! In a couple of years of course!
