So proud.

I am a proud mommy...no doubt about it.

Maybe it's just me, but our Q just seems to get bigger and more beautiful every day.

Next to me (thank goodness) she still looks small...but don't forget, I'm almost six feet tall. I try to draw out the babyhood as long as I can because (in spite of a few minor "terrible two" episodes) she is just the sweetest and most joyful (not to mention more affectionate and sweet) creature on earth right now.

But there's no doubt - she's growing at an astonishing rate.
I found a soft tape measure today and measured her very accurately, and then checked her against the growth charts ( the US charts, mind you, not the Asian charts) online. Here are the results:

- 70th to 80th percentile in height (that's US, let me reiterate!!!! Maybe it's good that she likes basketball!!)

- 60th percentile in head circumference (she is a clever one!)

- and (wait for it) 6th percentile in weight! That is a single digit, not a misprint. Yup, she's a beanpole. Trust me, she still eats like a horse. And her nutritional intake is heavy on fruits, veggies and meats. She's just growing vertically at such an alarming rate that her body mass can't keep up!

ps - I wish the charts included foot measurements, because her feet are HUGE! At 22 months, she's already nudging into a size 7 shoe. Not to mention the fact that I'm now having to get her PJs in 2-3 T size because she's so loooong. I don't know how they match parents with kids so well, but she definitely takes after adoptive-mommy (who has gargantuan feet, a narrow frame, and a ridiculously long back!)

She's catching up to YY! I think her feet are 11s now. So faschinating how the matches work, isn't it? Keep the baby phase as long as you can. I still mourn as I pass on to the little girl clothes section. However, there are always compensations. She is making up lovely gentle songs for me now, which is a great new skill. It's quite something to be serenaded by your child.
The basketball dreams are clearly alive down there with those dimensions. Glad she won't have a stiff neck looking up to talk to her mother all her life. : )

she was never destined to be in those daisy docs of Paisleys then!

I cannot believe she is in a size 7 already...OMG! and how tall is she? I thought Paisley was tall but she's probably shrimpy next to QQ!

Hayley, she's 34 inches and growing fast. She's been growing at a rate completely incompatible with the "standard rate" in the baby books for months now, with no sign of slowing. Occasionally, she takes a slight rest one month (growing a half inch, instead of an inch per month) but then she speeds up again. Maybe we should find a way to decrease her nutritional intake? (kidding, of course) How tall is Paisley these days??
