yellow rose

I can't stop myself. It's the monkey on my back. I was complaining to M. tonight about how impossibly many photos I have to go through and process in order to catch up. He councilled me to upload them all onto my external hard drive, forget about them, and start over tomorrow.
"I can't!" I wailed. "They're too good! I have to post them!"
He just looked at me and shook his head.
The problem is that I'm so goofily in love with our life right now that I just have to document almost every hour of every day. Plus, QQ matures and grows and changed by the day lately, and each day she's likely to be a different person. How can I not document all that?
And then there's her joy. Her sheer, constant, bubbling joy in life which...I mean, how can I not record that for posterity??
On this afternoon, we took the stroller downtown, and I released her from her straps to run around the dog park by the Confluence for a half hour or so. As you can see, her coordination has improved massively lately. She's quite the runner these days, and does it every chance she gets. The yellow roses were a happy accident...I spotted them in someone's backyard, crawling forgotten along the fence line, as we came down the hill to the park. They happened to go with Q's dress.
This hill is very, very steep - difficult even for an adult to negotiate in sandals. QQ had never tackled a hill anywhere near steep before, but she chugged determinedly up it as soon as I released her from the stroller, and then turned on her heel and came barreling back down, heedless of peril. I snapped photos until I had to drop the camera and catch her before she diggered on her forehead.
Kayaks at a local shop near the confluence. QQ found these exciting as well, naturally.

Completely understand the need to document. Love the excitement on her face and that yellow rose! : )

I think it is wonderful that you document your life with QQ. Someday this will be a very precious thing for her, and you both.
And love to see her running around!

Ohhhhh my, I haven't been by in awhile and she has grown and blossomed soooooo much!!! I can understand why you want to document every moment!!! She is so lovely and each time I come over here it makes me yearn for another little one. My baby turns 6 soon!

She is not a baby anymore and has the body of either a dancer or a runner. Before long she'll be side by side with you running. She gets more beautiful every day and I love that her personality shines through.

Hey, Z has that dress in turquoise! We must get our monkeys together to play. Maybe sometime this weekend?
